An Idea of how Serious Games can change your training methodologies:
What are serious games?
A serious game may be a simulation which has the look and feel of a game, but corresponds to non-game events or processes, such as business operations, military operations, etc. The games are intended to provide an engaging, self-reinforcing context in which to motivate and educate the players on a particular topic or subject. Other purposes for such games include marketing and advertisement. Serious games find great application in the following fields - training, evaluation, advertisement & marketing, acquaintance and familiarization.
The main goals of serious games in the learning process are to:
• Increase the retention and understanding of the subject matter being taught
• Enhance the enjoyment and speed of learning
• Make learning more cost and time-effective
The game-based learning process is marked by its flexibility because it can be:
• Accomplished anywhere at any time
• Deployed on multiple platforms
• A solitary or a team process
• Used in or out of, with or without, traditional teaching formats
Quick facts on serious games
Serious games can provide custom designed situations in which players are involved in complex, problem-driven activities requiring thought processing and decision making real-time.
Serious game based approach creates a compelling and an immersive experience that teaches players more than just theory. It provokes unique ways of viewing and understanding problems...and provides plenty of practice.
Learners are taught the basics in an interactive environment which simulates an alternate reality and is then provided with multiple situations and conditions in which the learner can test what is learnt. They are confronted by structured levels of difficulty and rewarded or corrected, as necessary. All the while, progress is being monitored and measured.
Serious game processes are a critical component of the new vision of training and learning because they can be employed anyplace, anytime, anywhere.
In lay man’s terms, using our 3D technologies you can
Create three dimensional worlds, environments and objects
Buildings, apartments, resorts etc. [Architecture domain]
An entire ship [Maritime domain]
An entire passenger aircraft with all interiors, compartments etc. [Flight domain]
Oil rigs [Energy domain]
Manufacturing plant [Manufacturing domain]
3D Model representations of automobiles
Navigate, view or explore 3D worlds or objects real-time and in an interactive manner
Create an interactive walkthrough for a building or apartment to see how it “looks and feels” like
Model a detailed ship and create an inspection/training software to train ship supervisors to inspect all safety aspects in a 3D interactive environment
Create 3D complex virtual machinery and teach how to disassemble, assemble, identify parts etc.
Create a public location (such as a football stadium) and simulate a bomb threat and how a situation such as that could be manage
Model an equipment with its behaviour and functionality to train operators
Create a Forklift machine with all physics and controlling capabilities and teach operators in how to use it
In the medical domain, create a complex CT scanner and teach operators on what each controls do, how to perform a scan procedure on the patient
Flight simulators, driving simulators (automobile domain) etc.
Experiment, test, practise and learn
Defence simulations. Model a particular land or geography and simulate different battle tactics and strategies
Cultural simulations. Create a game where the player needs to interact with people from different cultures/backgrounds and solve problems and issues at hand. This finds great applications for different government bodies to train people/units who are posted abroad to handle onsite operations.

Raptor has upgraded itself to deal with more business opportunities. Continuing our success in handling Simulation/Serious Games projects - we decided to utilize our experience in it as a full time business vertical. Raptor now offers services in various other fields by means of Serious games. The website has also been updated to reflect our new focus.
